What is the difference between the Schutt F7 Pro and F7 AiR?Updated a month ago
Schutt F7 Pro vs. F7 AiR vs. F7 AiR Elite
The Schutt F7 Pro, F7 AiR, and F7 AiR Elite are all varsity-level football helmets, but they differ in fit technology, internal padding, included accessories, and overall package.
F7 Pro
The F7 Pro is Schutt’s most advanced F7 helmet platform. It uses the 3D-scanned OCTO-Fit pod system, which features interchangeable dual-density ergonomic pods designed to adapt to the shape of the athlete’s head.
The F7 Pro also features Schutt’s 3D-printed DNA CORE internal padding system. This 3D lattice padding is designed to help maximize impact absorption and reduce force transferred to the player.
Additional F7 Pro features include the onboard AiR-Lock System, rear diffuser, Tektonic Mohawk, mid-point hookup with ANKR Locks, and integrated stabilizer for improved fit, jaw support, and helmet security.
The F7 Pro is also equipped with a clear Oakley Switch Visor and a titanium facemask, which is lighter than carbon steel.
Important facemask note: Previous F7 facemasks fit the new F7 Pro, but new F7X facemasks designed for the F7 Pro do not fit previous F7 models.
F7 AiR
The F7 AiR carries forward the popular look of the F7 Pro in a varsity-level helmet built for advanced fit and protection.
Unlike the F7 Pro, the F7 AiR does not use the 3D-printed DNA CORE internal padding system or OCTO-Fit pod system. Instead, it uses non-3D-printed internal padding while still offering key F7 platform features.
The F7 AiR includes the onboard AiR-Lock System, which allows the athlete to adjust the fit of the helmet without needing a separate handheld air pump. It also includes the rear diffuser, Tektonic Mohawk, and a Virginia Tech 5-Star safety rating.
F7 AiR Elite
The F7 AiR Elite uses the same helmet platform as the F7 AiR, including the onboard AiR-Lock System, rear diffuser, Tektonic Mohawk, and Virginia Tech 5-Star safety rating.
The main difference is that the F7 AiR Elite includes upgraded accessories. It ships with a visor, titanium facemask, ANKR Locks, and quarter-turn screws.
