Schutt Helmet Weights
Helmet weight can vary slightly depending on size, facemask, chinstrap, visor, and other installed accessories. The weights below are based on currently available Schutt helmet information.
Varsity Helmets
Schutt varsity helmets are designed for high school, college, and adult levels of play. Youth helmets should not be used at the varsity level.
- F7 Pro: 4 lbs.
- F7 AiR Elite: 4 lbs.
- F7 AiR: 4 lbs.
Schutt’s current varsity helmet weight is listed with a titanium facemask, QT hardware, and H-Cup chinstrap configuration.
Youth Helmets
Schutt youth helmets are designed for youth football and meet NOCSAE youth standards. Youth helmets should be selected based on the athlete’s level of play, league requirements, and proper fit.
- F7 AiR Youth: 3 lbs.
- F7 AiR Youth Elite: 3 lbs.
The F7 AiR Youth and F7 AiR Youth Elite are available in sizes 2X-Small through X-Large.
Note: Beginning in September 2027, all newly manufactured youth football helmets must weigh less than 3.5 lbs. per NOCSAE’s ND006 requirement.
Fit Reminder
Weight is only one factor when choosing a helmet. A helmet should also be selected based on the athlete’s level of play, head measurement, comfort, and proper fit. Always follow the helmet size chart and fitting instructions before use.
